The lower Dodge Challenger trims, the SXT, GT, and R/T, come with rear-wheel drive by default, with optional all-wheel drive. The SXT and GT trims have a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 303 horsepower. The GT utilizes more precise steering and highly tuned suspension than the SXT.
The R/T upgrades the engine to a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with 375 horsepower. From this trim onward, all trims have RWD only. The R/T Scat Pack is the first trim with standard and optional equipment for racing and is the most potent non-Hellcat trim, with a 392 HEMI® V8 engine generating 485 horsepower.
You can purchase the driver convenience group, which contains functions like a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert, or the Plus package, with heated seats and a heated steering wheel, both for the SXT trim. The GT trim is the first to offer an 18-speaker Harman Kardon® audio system. The R/T is the first trim to offer purely aesthetic packages.
The SRT Hellcat and its successive trims are better optimized for performance driving than everyday use. The baseline SRT Hellcat has a 717 horsepower, supercharged, 6.2-liter HEMI® V8 engine and a 200-mph speedometer. The Redeye Widebody has a 797-horsepower engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the Jailbreak trim expands your interior and exterior color and graphics options.
The SRT Super Stock is most suited to stock racing, with an 807-horsepower, supercharged 6.2-liter engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It’s also the only trim with a 220-mph speedometer. Lightweight alloy wheels and Brembo brakes with aluminum calipers are among its many performance enhancements.
